WotLK Classic Affliction Warlock

Affliction Warlocks go from supporting to DPSing. Affliction no longer uses the same rotation with one damage-over-time ability added. Corruption and Drain Soul undergo major alterations.

Everlasting Affliction can make Corruption persist forever. When you cast Shadow Bolt, Haunt, or Drain Soul, this talent refreshes Corruption. It does more, though.

Due to the refresh and Corruption's DoT nature, specialty mechanics are established. Some effects are recalculated when Corruption is replenished by Everlasting Affliction, while others stay active based on the first application and do not get applied later.

"Rollover" spells remain active after a refresh. We want a strong initial Corruption application and to keep it up as long as possible.

Horde

Orcs use Fel Energy to keep going, and it shows. They are the best choice for PvE, hands down. Warlocks don't need Axe Specialisation, of course. The worldwide cooldown caused by Life Tap allows for the use of Global Thermal Sapper Charge and Saronite Bomb, both of which enhance damage directly.

WotLK Classic Demonology Warlock

After a 5-second internal cooldown, stronger versions can overrun weaker ones. Last 10 seconds of the buff, weaker versions can overwrite stronger ones, reducing Demonic Pact's chance of failing.

Demonic Pact doesn't just grant spellpower. Great burst and cleave DPS. Metamorphosis makes us Illidan's little brother. While in demon form, we deal 20% more damage and acquire some unique skills. Immolation Aura and Shadow Cleave boost DPS against melee foes. A Demonology Warlock who uses Metamorphosis correctly will stand out.

Warlocks prefer to switch up their filler spells. Shadow Bolt is our main filler spell, however everytime Corruption's Molten Core procs, we spam Incinerate. Soul Fire is used when our targets are dying.

WotLK Classic Destruction Warlock

In past expansions, Warlock raiding centred on destruction. In Wrath of the Lich King, Affliction and Demonology become strong niche possibilities. Destruction is still an option. WOTLK Classic Warlock Leveling Guide

First of all, level the First Aid. You'll heal well. Low health is the sole factor that slows warlocks and prevents them from engaging another adversary after killing one.

When levelling up, a Super Healing Potion is the most important thing to have. When you're out on a quest, sometimes something bad or unlucky will happen, and the healing potion will be life saving. The potion will save you a lot of money on repairs and a lot of time.

Bandages are similar to the Super Healing Potion, but they aren't exactly an emergency button. It's good to have a stock of them ready so you can heal quickly between battles. Heavy Netherweave Bandages from the Burning Crusade are a good place to start, but the new and improved Frostweave Bandages and Heavy Frostweave Bandages are better.
